In the WBC competition the  baristas shall serve 3 different drinks for 4 sensory judges - meaning a total of 1 drink. The 12 drinks are:

- 4 Espressos (25-35 ml, appropriate amount of coffee, 90,5-96 degree celsius hot water, 8,5-9,5 atmospheres of pressure)
- 4 Cappuccinos (150-180 ml, harmonious balance of espresso, steamed milk and frothed milk
- 4 Signature drinks (Distinct taste of espresso, any ingredients except alcohol)

In addition to the 4 sensory judges, 2 technical judges will evaluate the barista on criterias like:

- Cleanliness og the station before and after the competition
- Usage of grinder
- Consistent dosing and tamping
- Extraction procedure
- Milk frothing technique
- Visual of the espressos for cappuccinos and signature drinks
- General hygiene
- Proper use of cloths

The barista has 15 minutes to prepare the 12 drinks. If more that 15 minutes is used he/she will receive 1 penalyt point per additional second. After 16 minutes the barista will be disqualified.
