In the competition 8 triangular tests are set up and the competitor who singles out the most correct cups from the 8 sets, wins. Triangular tests means that the competitor is presented for 3 cupsĀ of which two contain identical coffee. The 3rd one is another coffee. The task is to identify the odd cup and place it seperately from the other two cups. Three cuppers are competing against each other. They start the tasting at the same time and they have 8 minutes to identify the 8 odd cups. When they are finished they step back from the cupping table. The 8 sets of cups isĀ placed in front of the competitors at the same time. The sets are identical, but not placed out in the same order for the three cuppers. The cupper can use any sense to identify the odd cup. The cupper can use what is available on the table, and if preferred their own tasting spoon. The winner is the cupper who has identified most correct odd cups. If there is a tie, the contestant who finished first is the winner.
